WebLog

This isn't some kind of personal diary where I record intimate thoughts and details, this is simply a log of what I'm working on/worked on in any one week. It's intended for clients to be able to keep track of projects in a quick and simple way without the need to contact me. I update this weekly.

23rd-27th October 2006

Currently up to my eyes in an Ajax book. I have completed a lengthy and painful chapter on the use of web services and third party APIs in Ajax applications. This involved negotiating the delights such as the XMLHttpRequest objects policy on cross-domain posting and finding out which hack from server-side proxy codes to dynamic script tag allocation would work. Some bloggers would have you believe the Curl library of PHP is the best solution, but I'm really not so sure. I'm looking forward to some of the future proposals, such as a new ContextAgnosticXMLHttpRequest object, or an extension of Flash's cross-domain.xml file seeing the light of day.
